After chiropractic care, your body system wants to adjust. Think of a person going to the dentist to get braces. After braces, the teeth will start to adjust to the desired position. The adjustment can make the mouth sore. Getting a chiropractic treatment is more like the example above. Your body is already used to be unaligned. So, when there is an adjustment, it may take some time before the body gets used to the change, which may cause your body to feel sore. This is one of the reasons why it’s good to maintain a regular chiropractic treatment plan.
There is a chance that your body has adapted to subluxation or misalignment. Most times, patients may not even know or feel pain. However, just because your body has adapted to misalignment doesn’t mean your body is not in damage. In case you get injured, the pain may be more severe. The longer your body stays misaligned, the more you put your body at risk and likely experience post-appointment soreness.
